Safe Dating Tips
The people you meet via online dating sites are probably not going to be axe murderers. However, it's better
to be safe than sorry. Take it nice and slow in the beginning, stick to chatting via the website's
anonymous messaging system. Once you've exchanged a few pleasantries, then you may consider taking it to
the next level and give your potential match your personal contact details.
Before meeting with the person, ask for photo evidence. Ask the person for a few more photos, other than
the 1 or 2 they have loaded on their profile. Ask them to take a photo doing something specific, or even
of something you have been talking to them about for instance.
Meeting up for your first date:
Pick a public place:
It's most likely the first time you've met your date face to face, so pick a public place with which you are
both familiar, and you'll feel safe. Don't agree to go anywhere alone.
Get there on your own:
Don't let your date pick you up or drop you off. Get there on your own, you can let your date collect or drop
you off after a few dates.
Tell someone where you are going:
It's not neccessary to take bodyguards, but at least tell your family and friends where you are going. Call them
when you get there, and again when you leave.
